A long night of attacks, with fears of more to come

A night of intense fighting between Israel and Iran has left dozens injured and two people killed amid explosions heard in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Tehran. The exchange of fire and ballistic missiles follows retaliatory strikes by Iran against Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and military bases, which killed six scientists and senior commanders and reportedly also civilians.

Retaliatory strikes

Iran launched its attack in retaliation for Israeli strikes which targeted Iran's nuclear facilities and military bases on Friday, killing senior commanders and six scientists. Iranian state media reported that civilians were also killed.

Impacts

Ballistic missiles hit parts of Israel, with at least two people killed and dozens injured, according to Israeli emergency services.
