Deadly mushroom lunch cook tells court she threw up toxic meal
Cook says she prepared lunch with toxic mushrooms that made her sick
A chef has told a court she included a deadly mushroom in a dish that made her customers sick, but claims she also ingested the toxic meal and threw up. The chef faced compulsory questioning yesterday over the alleged poisoning of seven diners at an Auckland, New Zealand restaurant in May. The diners were hospitalised after eating the toxic mushroom in a beef dish, with four of them later transferred to specialist care in Australia. The chef, who has been charged with knowingly selling unsafe food, is due to face court again today.
