The Indian government has issued a safety advisory, instructing all airlines to check the fuel switches on their Boeing jets. The advisory follows recent incidents involving fuel leaks from the aircraft, prompting concerns about fuel tank safety. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has requested that all airlines perform visual inspections of the fuel tank access panels to ensure that they are properly closed and sealed. The regulatory body also advised airlines to reinforce the fuel tank access panel screws and to ensure that the fuel tanks are adequately secured. The Indian authorities have further stated that any aircraft found with loose fuel tank access panels will be grounded until the issue is resolved. The recent incidents have raised concerns among industry stakeholders regarding the safety of fuel tanks on Boeing jets. The DGCA is expected to conduct further investigations and work closely with Boeing to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
