The jury has retired in the trial of a man accused of murdering a woman by feeding her death cap mushrooms. It is alleged the man, identified as Bradley Robert Edwards, had fed the mushrooms to his partner, Adjela Sabic, in October 2022 before her death. Ms. Sabic had suffered nausea and vomiting and died after a few days in hospital. Edwards, 45, allegedly told colleagues he had eaten the mushrooms himself and was trying to get rid of them. He allegedly said he "should have chopped them up and fed them to the dogs". Edwards, from Melbourne, is charged with murdering Ms. Sabic, 45, at their home in October 2022. He has pleaded not guilty.

The jury retired to consider their verdict at 3:00 pm local time on Wednesday. It is expected to deliver its finding tomorrow.
