Kim Kardashian 'grandpa robber' dies month after trial

The perpetrator's health deteriorates in prison leading to his death

One month after being found guilty of robbing Kim Kardashian West of jewellery worth $4.5m, Marion Humphrey has passed away. The 67-year-old's health is said to have declined rapidly in recent months, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

Humphrey, dubbed by the media as the 'grandpa robber', was found guilty on 17 April of robbing the celebrity socialite in September 2021.

He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for his crimes.

A source said: "Humphrey's health deteriorated rapidly in prison. He was already quite frail and vulnerable, and prison was just too much for him."

The spokesperson would not comment specifically on Humphrey's death but did say: "We can confirm he has passed away. Details surrounding his death are still undisclosed."

The news comes just hours after it was reported that the convicted robber had filed an appeal against his sentence.
