Mexican police arrest suspect in killing of five band members

Artist's life cut short

Singer Rodrigo Alejandro Galindo Sánchez, better known as "El Rodrigo" was murdered yesterday afternoon at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon near the intersection of Calle Juarez and Álvaro Obregón in the colonia of Gomez Palacio, Durango. Sánchez was the lead singer of the band "Furia Roja" which had just released their first single "Como el sol". The suspect, who was arrested by the State Police, has not spoken to investigators yet. Authorities are urging members of the public to reach out with any information regarding the case.

Furia Roja's rise to fame

The band was formed in 2021 and played primarily covers of popular bands like Fondeadora, Gusano and Camelo in local bars and venues. They had recently signed a recording contract with popular label "Stereo Records" and were in the process of recording their first album. Their first single "Como el sol" was very popular and was trending on spotify with over 200,000 streams.

The investigation

Police are working diligently to investigate the crime. The suspect, who has not been identified, was arrested this morning at his residence without incident. State Police have not released a statement regarding the suspect's identity or potential motive. The investigation is still ongoing.
