President Obama Blasts 'Bizarre' Trump Claim of 2016 Election 'Treason'

President Obama took to social media on Sunday to denounce former President Trump's claim that the 2020 election was stolen through widespread voter fraud.

In a series of tweets, Obama said the assertion that the election was stolen is "lies" and a "bizarre" claim that threatens to undermine confidence in U.S. elections.

According to Obama, the former president's claim is not based on any credible evidence and is merely an excuse for his defeat in the 2020 elections.

Obama's tweets came in response to Trump's assertion

Made during his Atlanta rally on Saturday that the "real overall election victory" would have occurred if the Republican Party had managed to successfully enact voting reforms.

Obama urged Americans to "listen to election experts and administrators, not conspiracy theorists," and to "stand up for democracy."

The former president claimed that

Democrats had effectively "rigged and manipulated" election results in their favor, a claim for which he provided no evidence, and a claim which has been repeatedly debunked.
