Passengers rescued from Indonesia ferry fire
At least five dead, 284 rescued
A ferry fire off the coast of Indonesia's Sulawesi island has claimed at least five lives, with 284 people rescued. The Indonesian Navy has confirmed everyone aboard the KM III Barcelona has been evacuated. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Passengers escape flames
Passengers were seen diving into the water with life jackets to escape the flames. The Indonesian Navy, the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), and local search and rescue teams were deployed in the joint rescue effort.
