Trump calls on Thailand and Cambodia to stop fighting
US President Donald Trump has called on Thailand and Cambodia to stop fighting, amid heightened military tensions along their shared border.
In a tweet posted late on Sunday, Trump said: "I am very concerned about the ongoing fighting between Thailand and Cambodia, and I am calling for peace and restraint. The destruction and violence are completely unacceptable. Both countries must sit down and negotiate a peace agreement."
What's next?
Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen have yet to respond to Trump's call.
The Thai government has previously said it would launch further attacks if Cambodia did not withdraw its troops from Thai soil.
