Trump confirms China trip after 'very good' call with Xi
President Trump confirmed that he will be traveling to China in the coming weeks following a "very good" phone call with President Xi.
President Trump expressed his optimism and warmth towards President Xi on Twitter, stating: "I have a very good relationship with President Xi.
He's a friend of mine and a very good one. We just had a long conversation with China and Russia, among others. In the end, all countries will be dealt with fairly and, if necessary, ruthlessly. We all want and need each other.
It was also reported that President Trump plans to make his first visit to China in 2024 as part of his four-country tour including Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. The details of the trip are still pending and will be announced within the next several weeks.
The White House Press Secretary, Kate Bedingfield, commented on the phone call, stating that "the two leaders discussed the need to preserve the warming relationship between the two countries and to continue their close coordination on a range of issues of mutual concern."
The United States and China have been recently cooperating closely in resolving the Ukraine-Russia conflict, as well as negotiating ongoing trade disputes.
