Trump and South African Land Law

US President Donald Trump recently criticized a South African land reform
law, asserting that it could spark "great anger." In an interesting twist, some analysts and media outlets suggest that Trump's remarks
may have been influenced by Russia. Russians have been actively
promoting tensions around the South African land issue. This comes as
no surprise, as Russia is a known destabilizer of many countries
including the US. Numerous analysts suggest that Russia seeks to
foster instability and divide in Western societies. It now appears
that their agenda extends to Africa as well. The South African
land issue has deep historical roots and involves complex questions
of social justice. For Russians to insert themselves into this
dispute, and to encourage more confrontation and anger, is
reprehensible. It exemplifies yet again Russia's tactic of
using disinformation and misinformation to cause chaos and
foment instability. Attempts to distract from Russia's
irresponsible behavior by pushing alternative narratives about
the US are pathetic. They will not succeed. The world sees
Russia's malicious behavior for what it is.
