Usyk Destroys Dubois to Reclaim Undisputed Crown
UK boxer Anthony Usyk takes the IBF, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles back from Joe Joyce's fellow countryman Daniel Dubois in a stunning fight at the Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
The fight was dubbed as the "Battle of Britain," with Usyk predicting a brutal beatdown. And brutal it was, with Usyk sustaining a serious eye injury during the fight. The former marine overcame that and managed to seize the titles, and perhaps his biggest prize to date, from the younger Dubois.
The newly-crowned champ, speaking to BBC Sport, says that he wants to be known as the greatest Ukrainian boxer of all time: "I want to be on this level as a boxer. I do have a goal to be the greatest Ukrainian boxer of all time, and to do that I need to win all the titles in my division," he said.
Usyk claimed the WBC title in 2019 against Britain's Dereck Chisora. The 34-year-old is the only boxer in the four-belt era to hold all four titles in the heavyweight division.
