Watch: BBC's Jeremy Bowen goes onboard a plane dropping aid into Gaza
The BBC's Jeremy Bowen boarded a plane dropping humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. While Israel allowed the aid to be dropped, they prohibited journalists from filming outside the plane's windows, limiting transparency of the aid process and shrouding the devastation of Gaza in darkness. Upon his return, Bowen described the devastation of the vibrant communities he knew well in northern Gaza, stating that from his perspective, "there was nothing left". Despite claims from Israel that they are not responsible for food shortages, and assertions that starvation does not exist in Gaza, humanitarian groups have continued to call for greater transparency and action, insisting that airdrops will not be sufficient to supply Gaza with needed resources.
