Video footage captures the jarring moment
Security camera footage shows the moment Israeli forces boarded a yacht carrying activists towards Gaza to deliver humanitarian aid. The activists included Swedish campaigner Greta Thunberg and were detained with their boat, the Madleen, which was towed to the Israeli port city of Ashdod. The journey was organized by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a campaign group that has been trying to breach a blockade on Gaza imposed by Israel in 2007 when Hamas took control of the territory. The activists stated that their mission aimed to raise awareness of the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza caused by Israel's restrictions on the delivery of aid.
