Watch: Twin waterspouts merge near Italian coastline
In a stunning display of nature's power, two massive waterspouts merged just off the coast of Italy's Delta del Po. A local tour boat operator captured the extraordinary phenomenon on camera, pausing their excursion to film the merging waterspouts.
Waterspouts are akin to tornadoes but occur over water, and according to the European severe weather database, approximately 500 occur in Europe annually. The strength of the winds led to the convergence of these two enormous spouts.
